Future 15 will annually profile 15 area young professionals that are growing and excelling in their respective fields. These individuals are currently influencing the growth, prosperity and quality of life in Brown County and, will demonstrate the ability to positively impact the area in the future through professional accomplishments and community involvement.

Young Professional of the Year will be selected from the pool of Future 15 recipients. This honor is presented to an individual with a demonstrated commitment to Brown County through civic and business involvement, especially during the past year. He/She will possess values consistent with those of Current including an unwavering responsibility to the community through involvement with local organizations that elevate the overall quality of life in Brown County and our ability to attract and retain young talent.

Qualifications
  • Open to anyone living or working in Brown County.
  • Must be age 21-40 on or before December 31st of this year.
  • Previous recipients are not eligible to reapply for a minimum of three years.
  • If selected as a recipient, must agree to be photographed and profiled in a special section for the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
  • Must provide responses to application questions
  • Applying for Future 15 will automatically submit your application for consideration for Young Professional of the Year, and vice versa.
  • If applying for Young Professional of the Year  / Future 15, the applicant is not eligible to apply for Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Sponsored by Nicolet National Bank

This award is presented to a local business owner who exemplifies and holds true a commitment to Brown County through his/her demonstrated business entrepreneurial accomplishments. Consideration includes going beyond financial success by evaluating the individual's positive impact on the community as an entrepreneur. In addition, evaluating business success compared to defined goals will be considered.

Qualifications
  • Nominations open to anyone with at least 20% ownership of a business in Brown County.
  • Must be age 21-40 on or before December 31st of this year.
  • Previous recipients are not eligible to reapply for a minimum of three years.
  • Demonstrated business success and ownership for a minimum of three years.
  • Must employ at least 2 employees, not including yourself. 
  • General comments on financial success are acceptable, but refrain from providing specific financial information.
  • Must provide responses to application questions.
  • If applying for Young Entrepreneur of the Year, the applicant is not eligible to apply for Young Professional of the Year  / Future 15.

Next Generation Best Place to Work

This award is presented to a business that demonstrates a commitment to the development of young professionals, adapts work-life friendly policies, values generational differences and institutes attraction and retention initiatives for young talent.

Qualifications
  • Must be a business located in Brown County.
  • Previous recipients are not eligible to reapply for a minimum of three years.
  • Provide responses to application questions.
  • Individual submitting application must be authorized to do so on behalf of his or her company.

Current – Young Professionals Network is a program of the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce that works to attract, engage, develop and retain young talent in the Greater Green Bay area. Current strives to captivate the young professional audience and initiate their involvement in the local business community.

Current created the young professional awards in 2007 as a way to honor those that advance our mission by profiling their best practices that could be adopted by other local individuals and organizations. Additionally, Current sought to recognize area young professionals in our community who are composing noteworthy accomplishments and contributing to the overall quality of life in Greater Green Bay.

Future 15 recipients will be announced and profiled in a special insert in the Green Bay Press-Gazette prior to the awards program. Young Professional of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Next Generation Best Place to Work will be announced at the event on January 26, 2012. All nominators and nominees will receive an invitation to the event, standard event fees and registration policies apply.

Self applications are encouraged for all awards. Nominate an individual/organization without submitting responses to the questions. Your nominee will receive an automated communication indicating they have been nominated by you encouraging they apply by providing responses to the required questions.

The deadline for submitting a nomination is October 31st at 5:00 p.m. and application responses are due by November 7th at 5:00 p.m. Please note it is not required to receive a nomination to apply for an award and self applications are encouraged.
