LGB session days
September - Opening retreat
The objectives of the two-day, overnight retreat are to provide an introduction to Leadership Green Bay, to develop a safe environment in which the class can experiment and share, increase self-understanding and understanding of others, begin team building and broaden everyone's network of contacts.
October - Heritage and cultural awareness
The objectives of this day are to provide a strong knowledge of Brown County history, broaden participants' view of the community understanding its place in Wisconsin history and provide a basic knowledge of the community that will be used as a basis for other session days in the program.
November - Environment
The objectives of this day are to facilitate personal relationships with the environment, encourage environmental stewardship and deepen participants' understanding of individual positive and negative impacts on the environment.
December - Government
The objectives of this day are to expose the class to several local government and agency sites, and to inform individuals of opportunities for involvement in local government.
January - Education
The objectives of this day are to understand the value of business and education working together in a community, understand the extensive school offerings available to meet the needs of individual learners and to understand how people can become involved as leaders and partners in the education process.
February - Human services
The objectives of this day are to make participants aware of the vast services provided by the community, as well as to experience them first-hand.
March - Diversity and culture
The objectives of this day are to build awareness around diversity/inclusion, explore and develop roles as leaders in the workplace and foster collaboration among the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce's three leadership programs: Leadership Green Bay, Current young professionals network and Brown County Teen Leadership.
April - Marketplace
The objectives of this day are to create understanding of changes in local economy and industry, downtown development and consumerism and entrepreneurial opportunities.
May - Closing ceremony
The closing ceremony provides an opportunity for the class to reflect what they have learned throughout the year and to share their small group projects.
