ALGB communications

Communication
My name is Gene Summerfield (LGB Class of 1990). I have the pleasure of sharing with you some exciting changes about ALGB communications. All of these changes have come about as a direct result of LGB alumni including the recommendations from our ALGB class captains.
One of the first and best suggestions came from Cindy Brawner, (1988) who thought it would be a good idea to put the ALGB directory online.
We agreed. Look for that in the future as that will be priority one. If you’re a Leaders Club member (a mere $100 annually which includes attendance to all LGB events) your online directory listing will include a professional photo, a brief bio and contact info. If there is contact information you want to remain confidential, we also provide an opt-out option.
Another Class Captain, Jim Morrisson (1994), suggested we have a separate Web section for alumni.
This Web section has its own pointer, i.e. its own URL, which is ALGB.org. Anyone who wants to access the powerful resources within our alumni network will be able to access the home page of ALGB by simply typing ALGB.org into their Internet browser. It’s like having a four-character speed dial on your computer screen. Don’t forget to use “dot Org” as someone else has the “dot com” version.
These are just two of the ideas that we’re rolling out on the new Web communications specifically designed for ALGB members. BTW, other hard-working members of ALGB’s communication subcommittee include Lynn Jones and Vanessa Vanderveren-Marin. If you have suggestions or comments, please contact me or Lynn or Vanessa.
You can reach me at Gene.Summerfield@MorganStanley.Com or 920.490.1635. Seriously, I’d love to hear from you.
We believe that the internet will play a pivotal role in ALGB’s growing evolution. We’ll keep you posted.
