Leadership Green Bay
"Leaders come in many forms, with many styles and diverse qualities. There are quiet leaders and leaders one can hear in the next county. Some find strength in eloquence, some in judgment, some in courage." - John W. Gardner, On Leadership ©1990
Leadership Green Bay, a community-based leadership program, is here to help you grow as a leader and become more engaged in our community.
This professional enrichment program of the Greater Green Bay Chamber has been developing aspiring and current leaders since 1985. In 2012, Leadership Green Bay received the Leadership Excellence Award from Leadership Wisconsin. Each year, it welcomes 45 committed candidates to the program. These professionals gather once a month to learn about social issues and challenges facing the Green Bay area, get exposure to relevant leadership education and training skills, and become community stewards.
Each monthly gathering has a specific focus; from local government to education and the economy, learners are immersed in a full-day lesson that includes guest speakers, team-building exercises, and networking. The goal of each class day is to challenge thinking and inspire you to get involved in your community.
The program culminates by participants organizing into teams and identifying social or public issues that need attention. These teams work on community projects that are designed to raise awareness of an issue, improve team skills and effect change.
The program runs every year from September to May. Leadership Green Bay graduates leave the program armed with a new sense of knowledge, inspiration and friendship.
