Why kids should get involved

Why get involved in YA?
You can only learn so much behind a desk in a classroom. Eventually, you need to get out in the workforce and "try out" the career you're interested in.
With the Youth Apprenticeship program, you can get this hands-on experience.
Whether it's working the floors in a certified nursing facility or in the garage of an auto repair shop, the YA program offers real-life experience in these program areas. Even better, you'll get paid while you learn skills and get a head start on your career planning.
Other advantages:
- Build your resume for college applications, scholarship applications and career portfolios
- Earn advanced standing credits for technical college or college
- Earn a state-recognized certificate or occupational proficiency upon completion
