Our culture/diversity
The Greater Green Bay area is evolving from an area highly populated by old-world Germans to embrace a variety of people who celebrate a number of religions, cultural traditions, and beliefs.
At the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year, the Green Bay area schools were comprised of 17.23 percent Hispanic, 6.75 percent African-American, 7.82 Asian, 5 percent Native American and 63.21 percent white children. This is in contrast to even 10 years ago, when the Hispanic enrollment was only 4.7 percent. In addition, 15 percent of businesses in the Green Bay area are minority owned, which is defined as women, minorities or the disadvantaged.
